O ur ground floor apartment in Bath City Centre sleep four people in two south facing double bedrooms (one can be made as a twin), with a secluded walled garden for the sole use of guests and views over Bath and the hills around.
LocationPortland Place is an elegant Georgian terrace situated on the northern slopes of Bath City; close enough to the centre to be very convenient, yet far enough out to be peaceful and relaxing. The terrace enjoys excellent views over a small green with silver birch trees, down between two further elegant Georgian terraces, across the city centre to the hills behind.
Within a 2 to 5 minute walk, there's a small supermarket open until 11pm; excellent greengrocers, deli and pubs; good restaurants and the world famous Georgian Royal Crescent. Victoria Park, with delightful gardens and a children’s playground is a 10 minute walk. It takes about a 10 minute walk to the city centre and a one-way taxi journey costs about £4. However, the city is so compact that exploring on foot is very easy so a car is by no means essential and many guests come by train. Visitors with mobility problemsThe buildings in Portland Place are on a raised pavement but there is ramp access from the road level at two places with disabled parking bays. There are a few steps leading from the pavement to the front door. Once inside the front door all accommodation is on one level. The garden has a small lower terrace accessible to wheelchairs but the majority of the garden is on a higher level reached via a steep set of stone steps.
